• Callum MacKinloch: Third-born of the MacKinloch brothers. He Was taken prison by the earl of Cairnross seven years ago along with his brother Bram.  He has not spoken a word in years. He has dark hair and brown eyes.
• Lady Marguerite de Montpierre: Youngest daughter of French nobleman Guy de Montpierre, betrothed to the Earl of Cairnross.  She reached out to treat Callum's wounds following a beating. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.
• Bram MacKinloch: Callum's older brother who was in captivity with him but escaped. He's married to Nairna.
