  • Echo Emerson: The main girl character. She has long jagged sscars on her arms and hides them at all times. Something happened to make her forget an entire day. She is desperately trying to remember because everyone is blaming her mother, whom she loves. She misses Aires. She is a artist and very good at it. She dated Luke for a year and a half until he broke up with her. In order to get money to rebuild Aires car, she agrees to tutor Noah.
  • Noah Hutchins: His parents died two years ago and since then he has been going from foster home to foster home. He is trying to gain custody of his two younger brothers. He has tattoos and is called a man whore by many. In order to change his reputation and get his brothers back, he agrees to be tutored to get his grades up.
  • Aires Owen Emerson: Echo's older brother. He joined the Marines after high school. He was killed in Afghanistan. He worked on a corvette for years and Echo is trying to have it finished. He is Echo's idol.
  • Mrs. Collins: Echo and Noah's social services therapist. She truly wants to help the two of them so she make the plan for Echo to tutor Noah.
  • Biker Beth: Echo calls her biker Beth. Noah calls her sister. She is often beat up by her mothers boyfriends so she tries to live at her aunt's as often as she can. This is where she knows Isaiah and Noah.
  • Lila McCormick: Echo's best friend. She is the prettiest girl in the school and called Glinda the good witch.
  • Isaiah: Noah calls him brother. He is very punk. He is a foster child too. Lives with Noah and Beth. He is very loyal to Noah.
  • Jack Hutchins: Noah's younger brother. He is a writer and loves his brother. He is haunted by ghosts from the past which cause him nightmares.
  • Luke Manning: Echo's ex boyfriend. He is a jock and broke up with Echo because she wouldn't put out. Self centered is the word the describes him best.
  • Tyler Hutchins: Noah's youngest brother. He is four.
  • Joe Peterson: Jack and Tyler's foster father.
  • Dale: Beth's uncle.
  • Owen Emerson: Echo's father. Controlling.
  • Alexander Aires Emerson: Echo's little half brother.
  • Mrs. Emerson: Echo's step mother. She used to be Echo's babysitter,who Echo adored. Now Echo hates her.
  • Grace: Most popular girl at school doesn't want to be Echo's friend because it would hurt her reputation.
