Actually, as with most of these "children's" books, my edition is much older. I learned Thumper's father's maxim "If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all" a long time ago. Of course, since then I have learned that that is not always the kind or responsible thing, but I still try to say "somethin'" kindly.

Well, another child bedtime story book but again I love this book more because of the writing. The words, the phrases and sentences used to vivdly describe the scene are just incredible. If you are trying to write a creative story or trying to find a story to critic, this is a great book. I can write like 30 page paper easily out of this beautiful story. It is actually better reading the book than watching the Walt Disney Cartoon. It's much better than Harry Potter. The book is all about real life - gender differences, different roles in society, humanity and cruelty.
