Trouble is no stranger to Jack Reacher and once again he is acquainted with his friend. He just wanted to go to Virginia when he first stuck out his thumb in Nebraska. He had some doubts about the three people, two men and a woman, that picked him up and he had even more doubts when the woman began sending him coded blinks. Jack finds that his doubts were correct when he finds himself shot at and abandoned in the middle of no where, Iowa. But this isn't the last that he will see of the car or the people. As Jack teams up with a very reluctant Julia Sorenson, FBI Agent in charge, he once again must fight impossible odds to see that justice is done the victims and he remains a free man.
