I bought this book because someone had recommended the author. Jong has written lots of books so I chose this one at random. It was absolutely fascinating. It's really sexy--in fact, it pushes Harlequin romance boundaries--but I tried to make it serious by checking out some of Sappho's poetry from the library and reading it alongside the novel. I just gave it to a friend looking for a novel to take on vacation and I think this is definitely a worthy plane & beach read.
