“HILARIOUS. This time around, our fearless and accident-prone anti-heroes have a more linear plot to follow, and even Amy gets more consideration as a character. ”

When an outbreak of a strang parasite consumes the town of [Undisclosed] David must find a way to not screw things up to much more than he already has. The plot is much more put together than the first book in the series, (John Dies at the End) and the story flows much more smoothly. Filled with humor and horror in equal ammounts this book moves quickly. Does it always make sense? Heck no. Do the characters ever do the smart thing? No, not usually. Are there times when your pretty sure the author is deranged? Yes, he may need to be committed. All these ridiculous answers are true and that is one thing that makes this book so much fun. If you are looking for a horror comedy with some insanity thrown in, look no further.”

I don't want to give out any spoilers, but some of the scary parts of the book found me laughing out loud to the point that my dog came into the room to see what I was doing! John is my favorite character, he's a riot and I would love to have a friend like him, even if I know it would get me into situations.
I'm going to pursue the first book in the series, "John Dies at the End" for sure.”
“So funny...language bad”

While reading the first book I had a feeling I was watching a magician, pulling out new tricks from his hat, one at a time. This one is still interesting, quite scary, but the previous goofy attitude to the whole supernatural phenomena is gone. So is the suspense. Read it if you want to find out what happens to the main characters, but make no mistake, this is no JDATE”

This one lulled a bit in the middle in terms of interest (not in action) for me, but it's forgivable. Call me a big fan. ”
