Sean: Sabine Mellde, the main character, is spin-off from another book of mine. She originally was just a driver for Colin Powell. Those scenes were cut, but I kept the character for later.
Sean: The final batlle was to originally take place in Liverpool. The possible police response bothered me, so I moved the entire third act to Bideford, after watching James May's 'Toy Stories'.
Sean: The entire scene where Awair Overjohn buys an Austin Princess - perhaps England's crappiest car - was inspired by an episode of 'Top Gear'.
Sean: The reviewers didn't get the joke, but the reason Sabine doesn't have her angel wings is because her screw-ups have driven Heaven's insurance premiums through the roof.
Sean: Max Robespierre was a real person, and he actually was responsible for France's 'Reign of Terror' in 1792.
