Suzanne Brockmann is a writer unafraid of tackling difficult subject matter. The heart throb of the title is a film actor with a drink problem. A dark and intense romance.

I heard a lot of positive hype about this book. But beware - I feel passionate about my level of dislike for this book. I have somewhat edited the comments I wrote in 2005 to hopefully avoid insulting another who may have enjoyed Heartthrob but here goes:
