Didn’t Like It“I think this was a good book, but I'm totally sick of this series. It is really repetitive, there are always strange men crawling through her apartment window, and old ladies with guns. And I'm mad that the end didn't tell you which guy she got with haha. Maybe I will read the next one in a few months when I'm looking for something quick and easy.”

Five books in, I've pretty much got the formula down pat: 1) Stephanie picks up a seemingly simple FTA that somehow turns incredibly complicated (here: a self-described "little person" workaholic who ends up bunking with her temporarily); 2) Grandma Mazur does something outrageous (here: inadvertently zapping Stephanie's father with a stun gun), 3) Stephanie goes through cars (except for the powder-blue Buick) at an impressive clip; 4) Someone ends up stalking and eventually trying to kill her; 5) Morelli is alternately a jerk and a great guy, and Ranger is sexy and mysterious. The largest variation in this episode is that the bulk of the story's action isn't one of Stephanie's FTAs, but an unpaid private job that she's taken on to search for a missing uncle. Naturally, her uncle's disappearance ends up being more than it seems, and Stephanie is yanked headlong into yet another intrigue.
And yet, although these books have been five repeats of essentially the same story, I still enjoy them. They're light, funny, and perfect for audiobook listening (C.J. Critt was excellent as usual). Whether I'll get through all fifteen books I'm not sure, but I've already fired up the next volume in the series.”
“So far seems slower than the others I've read”

This, the fifth in the series is one of my favorites because it has so many stories running at once as well as introducing us to some new, funny characters.
Stephanie's uncle has disappeared while running errands and she is given the task of finding him which is not as easy as it sounds. With Lula and Grandma on the case to help, this is one of the funniest books and I just love it!”
“I like all the books in the Stephanie Plum series. In this one, Stephanie is looking for Uncle Fred, even though Aunt Mabel doesn't seem to miss him much, a little person named Briggs moves into Stephanie's apartment since it was her fault his apartment got robbed and his couch set on fire, and Benito Ramirez from book one makes a return appearance. I would like to have had more of Benito since he was a very good villain, but alas, he was just a complication in this story. Also, we don't know at the end of the book whether it was Ranger or Joe Morelli she invited over for some private high fiving.... I hope it was Ranger!”
