This is one of my favorite books. So much imagery and emotion of life in the deep South. August's acceptance of Lily and Lily's need for August were incredibly moving. We should all be blessed to have an August in our life, whether it be our own mother or a loving substitute.

Yay, it will be a movie! And what a cast! I haven't even finished the book yet, and I love it! I do indeed feel like I'm smothered in honey (in the good way) while reading it. I love the characters, I love the setting (in a softer way than I love my kids - first among the 32 meanings of love)
