I love this book. I think it's one of the best books I've ever read by Spinelli!
o0o goshers this game was great ii think u should all read it
I loved the book! The ending left me hanging, so I'm definitely going to read the second one. This is a great book to read if your not into fantasy... but your not into reality either.
What do you guys think about it? I wanted to read it, but I am not sure. I like realistic fiction and historical fiction books. I have enjoyed books such as A-List by Zoey Dean, Angus, Thongs and Full-frontal Snogging, By Rennison, and Daughter of Fortune by Isabelle Allende. What do you think? Can't wait to see your responses!
I think you would enjoy it. This book makes you think about what it means to be popular and what it means to be unique. Definately thought provoking!
I agree, this book is strange. I like the overall theme and how it kind of changes your outlook on fitting in, but I don't consider myself a big fan. I don't know. There was something about the book that just didn't work for me, although I can't seem to put my finger on it.
AMAZINGLY FANTABULOUSLY FAB BOOK! LOVE IT! :)
i think it is a fantasie book
i loved this book! i've had to read it twice for summer reading, and it never got old!
i loved everthing about this book except the ending! the ending looked like a quick finish one...... no happily ever after? lol
lol i agree with the ending thing lol
i think its like love stargirl or something lol
I know!!! I didn't like the ending!!! It left you hanging.....but not in a good way.
i didn't really get the ending of the book.
read Love,Stargirl it should answer most if not all your questions.
i read this book about a year ago and i loved it. i found out their is a second one (Love, Stargirl) So i was wondering could somone give me a quick summary on stargirl because its all kinda fuzzy to me. thanks (:
oohhhh nevermind i didn't see the big bold letters that said see book description ha!
i agree about the ending i would like a happy ending . but jerry spinelli is such a good author, and maybe firgirl NOT by jerry spinelli can be a little the same. but other than the ending I LOVE IT !!!!!!!
I have so much to say about this book. I loved it! It's an easy read. If you have an afternoon to lounge around then pick up this book and start reading. Stargirl is one of a kind. What I loved about her was her unbelievable amount of love she had for people and the service she rendered to everyone, even strangers. I had a like/very dislike thing going on with Leo, but you can't blame him. He was mediocre and was convinced that being normal and fitting it was what we are "supposed" to do. There wasn't much written about stargirls parents, but I love how encouraging they were of Stargirl's indiviuality. They didn't suppress her need to explore life. I belive that because they didn't try to mold her into what they wanted her to be, rather then what she wanted to be she ended up being a person that did a lot of good for other people. I know some people had a problem with the ending, but I think I understand what Spinelli was trying to say. Stargirl was a rare opportunity and a shining individual that Leo couldn't appreciate until she was gone. Read it and find out for yourself.
REALLY GOOD BOOK
REALLY GOOD BOOK
So this s a book i should read????
I'm pretty sure it's just a journal inspired by the book.
i agree with nicole r this is a really good book!just the ending i didnt really like. =[
Well did anyone think it was weird hearing it from the guys side
Being a teacher I struggle to find interesting material for kids to read. Most books about young adults are written from a third person perspective or from the perspective of a girl going through "life." I thought that this story might be more engaging for the young male readers, because of who was telling the story. Another good young adult book written from the "boy's point of view" is Bridge to Terabithia. I think more authors should explore writing about the guy's side of things (expecially concerning high school and junior high school scene).
I was wondering if I would read the sequel. I think it's worth a try considering the book's really a great and sensible read. Nonconformity fits here.
This book is really good so far. I like how Stargirl is so down to earth. But it starts to slow down towards the end... And the way that she reacts when she sits in the hotseat is sooo.....imature?
ur the gay 1 shut up and read the book
she does not get raped its not shit and lots a people like it
its Garbage he's right
I absolutely LOVED this book! It's so sweet [:
I agree I really like the cute little romantic stories.
I have to say that I did not like this book, I read it for my freshman class as a requirement and it became more of a chore reading it rather than an enjoying read. I don't think it was very interesting, and it was kind of weird, it did not keep my attention.
That is a bummer. I read this for my class too and I was expecting something..... different when I read the back but. Erm. It was kinda cool in some areas and then others... not so much. There are aspects that crack me up. Like the porcupine tie. I want one. And all these kids talking to a giant saguaro. That is awesome! I think it has to do with how flat all the characters are. Spinelli didn't really capitalize on the awesome characters he had just waiting for him to give them life. Oh well.
I loved this book and its one of my faveroutes. I can't get how anyone can not like it, for it is ever so sweet.
I agree; I read it for the first time in elementary school, but it's a book that doesn't lose its sweet magical quality.
One of our teachers read this to us, and for some reason I fell in love with this book.
My teacher read this book to us in class. I didn't like it, it was kind of weird and it was hard to pay attention to, like phoenix m said.
Star girl is a role model and showed me a way to live my life.
Should I read this?
if you read there is no way you wont totally fall in loive with the author Jerry Spinelli
I don't like this book cause its really boring to me.
the book i'd say inspires people to be them selves more or less. she is weird and all but arent we all at times :) star girl is a pretty interesting book and i dont mind it at all. I think more people should read it if they are feeling down about not fitting in or something of the sort or just read it for fun.
The book is good it shows everyone should just act like themselves, others should read it too.
The book shows kids to always be yourself and never keep yourself from shining and i say that everyone should give this book a try
Has anyone read the sequal?
i like this book because it shows people that you shouldnt judge people by how they dress or act.
i hated this book
u hated it?
hi did you like stargirl
HI I enjoed it very much how bout u?
I love this book!!
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
this is a really good book! i dont see how you cant like it!
Omg I don't know what it's about but I want to read it sooo much.
I like this book so far but the girl seems really wierd!
This is SUUUUUCH a great book!!!!!! READ IT!!!! :)
Love this book and I was told it was being made into a movie....any idea what happened to the movie? I have seen the trailer for it.
what! they can't :( movies of books always ruin them.
It started off slow but it was good
It is fascinating!! read it :)
Should I read this book? I have read that it is aimed at younger teens but it caught my eye... I'm still tossing up whether or not I'd enjoy it... any suggestions??
I loved it. It made me want to be like Stargirl. she was so different and she thought like no one else I've ever read about or met. she makes me want to be like her :) I recommend you read it. I think it actually made me think differently than i did before.
Yes, the main character is very annoying and I think we have all met someone like her. The book about being different and being yourself no matter what people think of you. If anything, it's a good moral lesson. Give it a try, it's a fast easy read.
I read it when i was younger, but it carries a lesson for people of all ages...
I think you should ready it, its a short book, nothing too long that will take too much of your time. I think it will be totally worth it...
This is definately a must read. It's my favorite book! It will change the way you view social standing, young love, and life. I loved this book especially because I had always wondered what would happen if something like this happened at my school, and this gives just a little insight! I loved it!
I LOVE YOU SAMANTHA. I totally agree! We need to talk more about it, I had no idea you had read it.
A wonderful book for middle school students to read. Allows them to realize that it is in our differences that makes the world exciting. It also speaks of friendship with the odd man or woman out and how much they may have to offer in a friendship
Considering my age and whatnot, I have read many books, and Stargirl still stands as one if not my favorite! It's a beautifully written book, with characters that will make you think about yourself and your own actions. Highly recommended for sure!
how does the book go
You'll get different things from this book at different ages. All middle school girls should read and then read it again in high school. Moms of girls, and boys actually, should read it too. There is so much to talk about it in this book. I use it as a literature circle choice in my class.
I like this book because of main character's attitude and also because this book is full of mystery.
we read this book in school when we were talking about being nonconformist and it is one of the most boring books I've ever read. You can absolutely find a better book to read
At first I wasn't sure I would like this book, it had a very brightly colored and vague cover, but as I started reading it I would read things that reminded me of myself. I loved this book!
If you were a student at Mica, how would you have acted around Stargirl or treated her? Which character describes you the best?
