“I read this because people had been telling me one of my short stories ("Bad Fairy") reminded them of this book, because of its whole "fairy tale reversal" theme. It was excellent! The Wizard of Oz is reinvented, told vaguely from the Witch of the West's point of view, and inundated with lots of cool politics and religion.”
