Dahl's books always start so violently, but they turn out all right in the end. I didn't read this one until I was a grown up...

One of my teachers (3rd grade?) read this aloud to us and it is one of my nicest book memories. I'm not sure I've actually ever read the printed copy.

Read this as a kid, and then just recently we listened to the audiobook on a family trip. It was even more entertaining than I remembered. It's a great story for all ages. My wife and I wondered if perhaps this story at all inspired the Lemony Snicket books.

This is probably another one of my favorite Roald Dahl books. A little boy named James escapes his evil aunts by sailing away in a giant peach with giant bugs that talk to him and become his family. It is a great, little read.

This is one of the books that started my love of reading. I don't think my imagination was big enough for this book though.
