Brown delves into the business of funerals and how people are caught at the worst time in their lives, and often times cheated as a result, as she explores how people deal with death in Sittin the Front Pew. It's funny, it's sad, it's honest. I liked it.”

SISTERS GOT ON MY NERVE, THEY WHERE IGNORANT AND DUMB. I REALLY FELT SORRY FOR NINA'S BORN BEFORE THE REST AND NOT BE ABLE TO GROW UP WITH HER SISTERS. PUT MEETS AFTER THEIR FATHER DIES. SHE WAS A EMBARRASSING TO HIM AND HE KEPT HER A SECRET FROM ALL HIS FAMILY EVEN HIS MOTHER WHO DEAD AND BROTHER WHO IS ALIVE. DIDN'T LIKE THE WAY THEY HAVE UNCLE THOMAS TALKING THAT WAY, I WAS HURT. AND THE TWO SISTER FIGHTING AT THE FUNERAL REALLY. BUT FELT BETTER WHEN THE SISTERS STOOD AT THE CASKET, AND ALL HELD HANDS AND HUGGED EACH OTHER AND THE WOMAN HE WAS PLANNING ON MARRING. AND WAS GLAD THAT ANTHONY MADE IT THERE TO BE WITH HIS WOMAN GLYNDA. WE ALL KNOW HOW SOME OF OUR AFRICAN AMERICAN FUNERAL CAN BE. SHOW THAT THEIR FATHER WAS NOT AS PERFECT AS THEY THOUGHT HE WAS. THE END WAS GOOD, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER, I WANTED TO KNOW IF GLYNDA, HAD ASK ANTHONY TO MARRY HER?!!!”

Sittin' in the Front Pew let us inside the lives, of four of the Naylor sisters planning the funeral of their much loved dad. How can a man so loved be afraid to share such a secret with his family? Especially considering this happened so long ago. Can you imagine a person going to his grave and not telling the people he claimed to love the most something so important. Then when the mystery person shows up and is allowed to sit on the front pew, one of the sisters refuses to attend. Collette later decides to come and all hell breaks when she shows up in very inappropriate attire. This book was an emotional read, yet it was quite humorous at times. It allows the reader to go behind the scenes and actually see what can happen to a family after losing a loved one, and having to plan the funeral and discovering loaded secrets along the way. An interesting read.”
“A must read! Great.”

It was fun with just enough humor and seriousness to balance it out. The author seems so down to earth and the family in the story seems so real, like it could actually be anyone's family. Great read.”
