“First off: What is up with all this angst? Seriously if the Rock Chicks aren't kidnapped, shot at or threatened then their back-stories have as much angst as possible AND they get shot at nonetheless. But oh, I loved Mace's story However the constant POV change was not necessary. We didn't get anything from Mace and Stella's characters, no depth at all from their POV and they do have depth to them. KA let others tell their story and that's fine, but I still think the book would have been way way better if the author stuck to her previous format. if it works why change it?”LiquidLucidity wrote this review Thursday, October 10, 2013. “4 Stars? Yeah. I did love Mace and Stella's story, but I didn't care for the changing POV's so much. Just Mace and Stella's POV would've worked better for me. There was a lot of information about Mace's past that could've been given to the reader without having us basically overhear it in another characters POV. I do love getting those little glimpses inside the other character's heads during the exciting build up near the end, but when the info given to us so soon like it's a secret and we know the info for so much of the story, it was a little let down for me. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book.”stupid shiny volvo driver wrote this review Friday, July 5, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This rock chick was not one of my favs but still a good read. Loved to hear about Mace, but Stella was not a character I could get really into. Couldn't put my finger on it with Stella guess more of a combo of things. Mace on the other hand wow. He made t he story. Still a awesome read ”Belle wrote this review Wednesday, July 10, 2013. “This story from the Rock Chick series is different from all the others. Stella and Mace had a lot more angst than the other characters coupling because of their tormented past between each other and their past in general. Because of this angst, it was harder for me to connect with their love in the beginning. I felt their lust for each other, I felt their want for each other but when the moment hit when their love for each other was exposed, oh my! To see hard, demon filled Mace finally let his walls down and let Stella in made me joyous. I feel that Stella and Mace was a couple that really had to work hard for their relationship and love to be strong compared to the other Rock Chick couples. This made Rock Chick Reckoning a more heart-breaking read. Totally worth the heart-break!
I liked how KA brought the other couples POVs in to this plot. Instead of the story focusing on the troubles of Mace and Stella only, all Rock Chick couples were in danger and as a reader, I got to read mostly from Stella POV but I got read from the others character’s POV. This was a nice twist in the plot because the men were ready to lay low to protect their loved ones (and you get to read why they decide this) but when it came time for action, a war started and fury was let loose. I also like experiencing how the other couples perceived Stella and Mace together; how they slowly witnessed Mace open up.
Another great story from KA.

“I gotta say I am really surprised KA would do what she did at the end of this book! First, let me comment on this books story. It was pretty slow to get going. Not the normal Laugh Out Loud she delivers in the first few books in this series. (I do love how she can get me to do that with her writing!) But this book really came up short in the laughter and action. It was more of a sharp pain in the heart story with some REALLY down and slow reading time. I literally "could" put it down for not just hours at a time, but DAYS! :( I finally made myself finish reading it. I am glad and yet not glad I did this. (Don't get me wrong, the story over all was good. Just not her usual great story.) Glad because I wanted to get to the other book in hopes it is better. (Jumping books in a series can always lead to missing things in the next story.)
***SPOILER ALERT*** I am NOT glad I finished it because KA actually wrote about one of the Hot Bunch getting married and having 2 kids when that IS THE NEXT BOOK! Now why would KA do that???!!! UGH! Now the question is: Do I even bother reading the last installment?? Well, I already purchased it, so I might as well. But I would LOVE to know why it was spoiled in the this book?
Over all, if you really liked/loved the previous Rock Chick books, be prepared this one is not as good, but is still readable. If you plan on reading the next installment: Regret, then DO NOT READ: The Epilogue in this book!!! ”

After seeing his ex-girlfriend Stella lead singer in a popular local band getting shot at, Mace decides it is time to take the EX out of ex-girlfriend and make her his. Mace broke Stella's heart a year ago and she has no intention of letting him back in...and that's when the bullets start flying and Mace bursts back in to her life intent on getting underneath her skin and into her heart. But after a lifetime of rejection from her family, then a year ago by Mace, Stella isn't going to make it easy...
Another great book by Kristen Ashley, this series is full of laughs and some crazy action and Rock Chick Reckoning is no different. Stella and all the Rock Chicks are under fire and the Hot Bunch take the threat very seriously! What I loved about this book was that we got to see from all the Rock Chicks POVs at some point, it was fantastic, you not only got to catch up with previous couples but you also got to see Mace and Stella from other peoples POV.
There aren't many of the Hot Bunch and the Rock Chicks left now, just Hector, Ally and Darius (although Darius isn't getting a book in this series *sad face*), and I can't wait to see what happens next and what kooky situations they manage to get themselves in!
Hot Bunch "Hotness" Scale
1. Hank- Guy Next Door with an Edge
2. Luke- Silent & Sexy
3. Hector- Wild & Wicked
3. Mace- Intense & Broody
4. Vance- Knicker Meltingly Sexy
5. Eddie- Smouldering Mexican Bad Boy
6. Lee- Dashing & Dangerous
“I love this series, but it seemed that this wasn't everyone's favorite. Maybe I'm just perverse (quite likely, in fact, LOL)but I loved this for all the reasons that bugged others.
Stella and Mace...2 broken characters for sure; I'd have been disappointed if this relationship was easy. I loved that Mace and Stella had a history, screwed it up and had to come back to each other from a different angle. This story of mistakes, stubborn foolishness, misunderstandings felt more true to life, given their childhoods and intervening years.
Don't get me wrong, the whole thing about the Hot Bunch ALWAYS knowing their women immediately and having to convince the Rock Chicks (mostly via mind numbing sex) is the charm of the series, but I was ready for a different story and KA came thru.
I'm thinking of making a playlist of Rock Chick songs, cause I'm a dork...but they are songs I've loved for years, so WTFN?
As to the epilogue? I loved it, but it makes Hector's story seem like an add on - which will not keep me from reading it! ”
