Ma’mselle Mimi (Mimi): What?! I’m drawing a smiley face because I’m happy! JUAN’S BACK!
La Lola (Lola): Juan! Juan! Juan! Juan! Juan!!! *chants while raising hands to the ceiling*
SSC: No more candy in the mornings for you Lola! Seriously! *rubs forehead* yesyes I know that Juan is back. He’s sitting right here next to me. God Juan, give us a backrub love. Alright ladies, focus please because this is serious business. As you are aware, Juan has indicated that he will no longer be able to work with us, if we do not take in his delicious Swedish half brother Sven in all his meatball glory.

Kathie D wrote this review Sunday, August 9 2009. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No“I’ve been listening to this talking book as I’ve driven back and forth to work. I loved it! Funny and quirky with many colorful characters. The book begins as Chicago Stars quarterback, Dean Robillard sets off on a cross-country trip. He’s on a lonely stretch of road in Colorado when he sees a woman dressed in a beaver suit trying to catch a ride. Well, he picks Blue Bailey up and together they head to his summer home in Garrison, Tennessee where Dean finds his mother, April fixing up the farm. His mom is an ex-groupie for rock bands. One morning, they wake up to find an eleven-year old girl sleeping on the front porch and soon find out she’s Dean’s stepsister. Riley’s father comes to pick her up and here comes Jack Patriot, a famous rocker who used to date Dean’s mother (thus, Dean). No one seems to get along and there’s bantering and pure dislike galore. Blue is the sort of person who’s been looking for a family her whole life and fate seems to have set in and given her one, even though they’re all a bit different. Add to the mix Mrs. Garrison who practically runs the town and everyone seems to hate her and you have yourself one heck of a good read! Loved it!

“ I'm a longtime SEP fan, and have always enjoyed her special blend of romance and humor. That said, though, NATURAL BORN CHARMER is not, in my opinion, nearly as good as some of her former work.
With unrealistic situations (what woman would hitchhike with a stranger in this day and age, even if you knew, technically, who he was -- and then go off with him to his vacation home) that made me dislike the main character, I had to work to get into this story. Once involved, though, I did enjoy the plot, but not nearly as much as I have in the past.
This isn't a bad book, but it's by no means SEP's BEST work. ”
