It's about Harry Houdini, an escape artist, who could escape from anything, such as Chinese torture cell, in which he has to escape when hung by his ankle in an underwater cell. (picture on the title). This is a great biography book of Houdini, it tells about his youth, family, and him escaping and unlocking handcuffs and prisons. ”

Growing up under the poverty line, and a Jew in Hungary, Harry lived a very difficult life. Once migrating to the States, Houdini's hidden talent of Escapism doesn't really make the impact on USA as he had hoped.
This biography was very well written. Honestly, Sid Fleischman wrote with certain skill, that even though its a biography, it makes you not want to stop reading. I was really surprised at how Houdini was unsuccessful at first; even with his extraordinary skills, he failed to amaze many people at the beginning. Also, i didnt realize that being a Jew living in America had such hardships.”

fame and went on to perform some of the world’s most astonishing magic tricks.
Houdini’s story is a classic rags-to-riches story with plenty of personality to
spare.”
