Rarely do I want to read a book again, and this one I immediately wanted to reread, so that's saying something. I loved the characters, the plot, the setting, everything. I also loved that it was a quick but very enjoyable read. Well done! I hope this author's next novel is as perfect!

2.5 stars. Not a bad first try for this new author, but the story was a bit weak and the writing at times could be redundant and/or state the obvious. Likeable heroine.

Exactly what a good historical romance should be...good character development, likeable characters, tension between the lover and his conquest, all decided on a good kiss at the end.

a ridiculously predictable romance book set in 19th century England with just enough twists to keep you interested. perfect for vacation or sitting in a doctors office waiting!

    Review:

"Endenbrooke" by Julianne Donaldson was a cute and sweet historical fiction romance with the main setting was in the beautiful Edenbrooke British estates. I found this novel somewhat humorously written that was caught up in the angst and even sorrow at times. I found this read a very clean cut read which is very refreshing in that will definitely of interest to the YA readers. The characters were all very truly intriguing indeed especially the Marianne's grandma who had sent her off due to an invitation to Endenbrooke and that Mr. Whittles and his poems. What's up with the twirling? These twirling scenes from the author were simply the best ones... To find out about this and a lots more...pick up "Edenbrooke" to see the why, where, how and what of it all of Marianne and Philip. It will be a interesting read. Be ready for a spirited young Marianne who has the tendency to embarrass herself along in this wonderful storyline and plot.

If you are in for a well written, intriguing, funny, clean read you have come to the right place for "Edenbrooke" would be recommended to you as a good read.

Marianne's mother died and her father sent her and her sister away. Eventually she ends up at Edenbrooke, being entertained by Phillip and enjoying her time in good company again. But a certain rumor is making others very interested in her.
Okay, so I had two good friends absolutely adore this book and I was excited to pick it up. But, well, yeah, I didn't love it. But I need to warn people that I was also completely enthralled (still am) with a horror, suspense story that is five times more interesting than this simple love story. The main character, Marianne is indecisive and very unconfident in herself. She is rather dense and an unreliable narrator, but the reader still picked up things she never realized. Some might say that is just like many other girls trying to find love, but I wanted more of a character. The dialogue and descriptions felt forced and I honestly was not in the mood for a romance. Well a sappy, too perfectly tied up romance. Even single little piece of string was wrapped up in an absolutely perfect happily ever after that didn't quite feel real. But this wasn't my book, so I didn't save it to read later, and I read it quickly and gave it back. Hopefully others will enjoy this more than I did.

a good romance story..so unlike some of the modern romance stories which seem to be full of lust...this is a wonderfully told story without any lust or bad language..I enjoyed reading this tremendously..would recommend this book
