An inspiring story of a man who realized what he was missing in his life--gardening! He's a real doer and giver. He makes farming an urban possibility, giving charm and character to the profession. An enjoyable read.

I heard about The Good Food Revolution from a Public Radio interview with the book's author, Will Allen. He was so well spoken, so passionate about his work in Milwaukee, that I was anxious to find a copy and read it. Allen, a former basketball player, son of a sharecropper, has been working to develop sustainable urban farming techniques. He wants to not only provide inner city people with fresh food, but to show them how they can grow healthy food for themselves. I was very interested in his obvious dedication to hard work, creativity, and his concern for other people. He is one inspiring person.

Okay, but it got a little repetitive after a while.

Couldn't get into it. It's mainly his life story.

The story of a man who was raised on the land, went on to play professional basketball and ended up back on the land as an urban farmer. His passion for good food and urban farming make this a very interesting read.
