Waterborne is the story of Alexandros, an Atlantean prince on a mission to assassinate a civilian. His attempted assassination is spoiled by a beautiful and naked human woman. She is injured but he doesn't want to let her die and takes her to his underwater world in an attempt to save her life.

Ree is an independent woman, who likes to take care of herself. She was sent to kill a Russian target but her operation turns deadly when she is shot. When Ree wakes up, she finds herself in an unbelievable world under the water. She quickly adjusts to her surroundings and is aggravated by her savior/captor, the handsome but bossy Alexandros.

When someone tries to murder Alexandros, Ree and Alex go on the run and try to finish the mission/assassination.

I didn’t read the previous books in this series but Waterborne did stand alone just fine, although I might of appreciated it more with the back ground previous books would of provided. It was filled with action, mystery and hot and steamy merman encounters. The villain is truly a despicable character and made for an interesting read. Ree has great spunk and seemed to fit right into the Atlantis world. I did have a slight issue with the develop of the relationship between Ree and Alex…I didn’t feel the connection build.

Pleasant, easy, sexy read. 3 ½ stars
