and for my book review for October I’m summarizing the book The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore. The planet Lorien is under attack of the Mogadorians, so the elders of the planet decide to choose 9 special children of their planet to to earth and hide until can fight off the Mogadorians with their legacies, or powers. The past years that they have been hiding, they had to split up with their cepans, or guardians, a spread across the globe. They are in numerical order so that they have to die in that order. Child 1,2, and 3 have been killed. John is the 4th and is next. When he finds 6 they go off and try to find the others now that they are together because most of them should have had developed their legacies. They find 7, 8, and 9 and soon discover that there is a 10th child that came to earth. Together they fight the Mogadorians to try to find the Mogdorian leader so that they can defeat the whole community of the Mogadorians! I really enjoyed this book, and when I started it I couldn’t put it down. I read the first two books and was instantly hooked on the story line. This series has a lot of violence, and fighting, but nothing too graphic where it’s totally gross. It’s very interesting how they use their powers to battle. I would recommend this book for people over the age of twelve because of all the violence.
