Gandhi An Autobiography: The Story of My Experiments With Truth

by M.K.Gandhi, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi's nonviolent struggles in South Africa and India had already brought him to such a level of notoriety, adulation, and controversy that when asked to write an autobiography midway through his career, he took it as an opportunity to explain himself. Although accepting of his status as a great innovator in the struggle against racism, violence, and, just then, colonialism, Gandhi... (read more)

Gandhi stands as one of the most politically admirable personalities EVER, and this book shows us why. A bit of bore in parts, it nevertheless details his struggles and use of nonviolent demonstrations to liberate his country. Not a book to read for fun, but a necessary one to educate oneself. For all of his faults, he is one of my biggest heroes of all time.

I am a believer in Gandhi. I am amazed by the goodness of his heart and by the long for justice of his spirit. Though am not at par to his beliefs in faith nor to his citezenship, I hold and claim him as the best hero in all nations. That is why am amzaed by his country and its literature (maybe because its history is similar to ours). I've read excerpts of his life story, and am still looking forward to read more in the near future.

I want to have this book.

    Truth, simplicity and justice, indeed.

    Gandhi wisdom to everyone!

I always wanted to read this book in its entirety... Always learnt about Bapu from our textbooks... I always believed that there must be charismatic in him... Otherwise how to mobilise millions of people for the freedom struggle... I don't think it's easy to manage people... Everybody has his ego and pride...

Now I've this book on my hand... Already started understanding the mantra...

It's the simplicity... Truth... Ahimsa... Discipline... If I can follow your teachings... Definitely I'll be very Happy person...

Just love the book for the clarity of thought that Gandhi had..what i loved abt the book that he has no inhibitions about stating what he has done including supporting britishers at times early in his life ...mistakes that he has done in his life...but as with most autoboigraphies during those period....it ends where it should start,,it ends at the start of his role in indian independence..would have loved to read his view from 1920-1947...does anybody has any idea abt any other book he may have written in later part of his life..
