“I really enjoyed this book. I actually LOVE Kristen Ashley's books. (Rock Chick series is my favorite of hers.) But one thing I noticed with Kristen's books is that they aren't just about "1" adventure/action plot in the book. A LOT happens and often! There is so much in her books/stories that you don't realize your coming to the end of the story until you're there.
In this book, you have a man who is wrongly accused of a murder. When he gets out of prison, he meets a female who blows his mind and way of thinking about Lady Luck. There is family drama and a part where children are involved in the heart of the plot that will tear at your Soul. There is a lot of action, suspense, sex, laughter some really heart wrenching areas and of course, love story. You really get a great picture of the characters in this story. But, the one thing I don't like about this book is ALL THE DETAIL in the houses, furniture, views and so on. UGH!!! I skipped over all of that. There is a way to describe something to the point of seeing it and then there is a way where you feel like you are living it to the point of drowning in it. Sorry, but that is in this one. But, other than that, this book is awesome!!
I really don't want to give too much away. If I put a bunch of the information in my review, then why read the book? And trust me, this is one you will enjoy if you like a story where you have bad luck but hold out for good luck!!
I definitely recommend this book!
“I liked LADY LUCK, but it wouldn't be my favorite book in the series at all. This right at this moment, would be my least favorite in the Colorado Mountain Series. In the beginning of the book, it was actually pretty good and things were moving along, but as soon as we hot Carnal, Colorado I began to loose interest. I swear it has something to do with that town. I miss the town in the first book, The Gamble. But I bloody swear it has something to do with the town. But anyway, LADY LUCK was very slow paced and things weren't moving along as fast as I hoped it would.
Anyway, we have our heroine, Lexi Berry, who I liked a lot. She was a bubbly heroine and it was a nice change to have an upbeat and happy heroine who seems to enjoy life and make the most of it. And like our hero, Ty says, she is a total goof! I enjoyed her presence. And our hero, Ty Walker was pretty cool. I mean, I didn't like him as much as the last two hero's. I didn't have a problem or anything with Ty, it's just sometimes you connect with characters and sometimes you don't and I just didn't connect with him on a huge level. But I thought seeing the romance bloom between Lexi and Ty was fun to watch.
I loved the friendship between Tate and Ty! I loved that we got things in Ty's POV. I hated the dirty cops. It is just wrong for someone to hate someone because of their color. I am half black like Ty is and it is a way I would hate to be treated and it isn't fair and plus it rubbed me the wrong way. People like that, that still discriminates, about anything about anyone, I hate that their are people like that. But anyway, there were some moments and heartbreaking scenes, so I did partly enjoy it, but like I said, it would probably be my least favorite book in this series.”
“Loved goofy Lexie. All the books in the mountain man series are great.”Connie W wrote this review Monday, February 11, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Lady Luck engrossed me from the beginning and captivated me till the end. I ran through a gambit of emotions right along side the characters. Kristen Ashley hits the mark again with Lady Luck, a book that touches your heart strings and it has SUPER ALPHA MALES to boot :D. I'm thinking Ashley should try highlanders, kilt wearing alpha's are needed eventually...”Sailon wrote this review Thursday, June 21, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Kristen Ashley always delivers, but this was not my favorite of her books. Ty was against type for a "Mountain Man" series, which actually was a pleasant surprise, but the dialogue was often awkward and I was uncomfortable with the constant use of "pussy" for "woman".
This was a darker book, in terms of topic, but the complicated plot utilized previous characters nicely and was satisfying. Lexie was a good foil for all the darkness, and her goofiness was a leavening agent for Ty's personality.
Overall, many good things, but just didn't ring true for me.”
“Lexie was sent to pick up Ty Walker from prison...little did she know that she was to become his wife. And what else she didn't know was that when he took her to Carnal, her whole life would change.
I really like Lexie and she is a "total goof" but she is warm and sensitive as well. I enjoyed reading about all the ways she made the house a home. The time in Florida was a killer though.
Ty was great as well. I don't know why but it was something about how he didn't really speak much that won me over. The one thing that I did not like was him calling Lexie "mama". It wasn't creepy or anything, I just didn't care for it. I did love how they both kept their notes...that was really sweet.
The one thing that I really enjoyed over the other two books is that most of the characters from Sweet Dreams were included in the story and even the main characters from The Gamble were involved. And this book had a lot going on. The main couple get together fairly quickly but there is lots of drama...from relationship problems, to Ty trying to clear his name and even things happening with Lexie. Thank goodness Lady Luck finally shined on them.
Of course, the epilogue was great. I love how KA always ties things up so nicely and in such detail. And I thought this series was complete but I was happy to see that another book will be coming out with Chace and Faye.
Favorite quote: **Be advised this may be a spoiler**
♥ Then he said, “Your nightmare, mama, was my dream.”
My heart clenched.
He kept going. “Never had a home until you gave me one.”
My breath started sticking.
“Never had anyone give to me the way you gave to me.”
My breath stopped sticking and clogged.
“Never thought of findin’ a woman who I wanted to have my baby.”
“Never had light in my life, never, not once, I lived wild but I didn’t burn bright until you shined your light on me.”
“Whacked, fuckin’ insane, but, at night, you curled in front of me, didn’t mind I did that time that wasn’t mine ‘cause it meant I walked out to you.”
He had to stop. He had to.
“Your nightmare,” he whispered, turned his head and against my neck he finished, “my dream.”
