  • Ryder Montgomery: Eldest of the Montgomery brothers and head of Montgomery Family Contractors. He's in charge of the job sites, executing the architectural plans. He has dark hair with green eyes.
  • Hope Beaumont: Innkeeper for the InnBoonesboro. She was previously working at the posh hotel in DC owned by her boyfriend's family. She left when he dumped her for a socialite. She recently discovered she is a descendant of the sister of the Inn's resident ghost who's referred as Lizzy. Best friends with Clare and Avery. Hope is pretty with black, chin length hair and chocolate eyes.
  • Owen Montgomery: Middle sibling of the Montgomery brothers. Engaged to Avery and is considered the "numbers" guy in Montgomery Family Contractors. He's helping Hope research Lizzy's Billy.
  • Avery MacTavish: Owner of Vesta Pizzeria and Family Restaurant and engaged to Owen. Opening a new restaurant to be called MacT's. Best friends with Hope and Clare.
  • Beckett Montgomery: Youngest of the Montgomery brothers. He's an architect and is married to Clare. Step-father of Harry, Liam and Murphy, and an expectant father.
  • Justine Montgomery: Mother of the three Montgomery Boys and Willy B's lover.
  • Clare Murphy Brewster Montgomery: Married to Beckett Montgomery and pregnant. Mother of Harry, Liam and Murphy and owns a bookstore called Turn the Page. Widow of Clint Brewster. Best friends with Hope and Avery.
  • Jonathan Wickham: Hope's former boyfriend/lover, married to Sheridan
  • Sheridan Massey Wickham: Jonathan's wife
  • Carolee: Justine's sister, helps run the Inn and works mostly in the kitchen
  • Liam Brewster: Clare's middle son, Beckett's step-son, brother of Harry and Murphy

  • Catherine Ford Darby: Eliza's sister. Hope's ancestor and sister of the ghost Eliza that haunts the inn.
  • Dumbass: Ryder's dog. also known as D.A.
  • Lola and Austin Redman: Inn guests. She is referred to as "the Pill" because of her dismissive and demanding behavior.
  • Bob Mackie: Inn guest who is a Civil War buff.
  • Atticus and Finch: Justine's dogs.
  • Chip Barlow and Marlie: Inn guests who are eloping.
