“I really must read more Chris Cleave. I was taken with him at his talks at the Melbourne Writers Festival last weekend. So I bought Gold and took it home and gobbled it up. It read like a thriller, hard to put down, although relating not to bombs and car chases but rather to hearts and bicycle races. It is fine storytelling, that gets you right [here].
