“This book is about a boy who gets sent away to a boarding school. He ends up falling in with a crowd that gets him into trouble, but they are the best friends he has ever had. A tragic event happens to a girl he is in love with, and he realizes how real life can be.
This book made me cry. I love the characters in it. My favorite is Alaska because she is so carefree and happy, yet she has a sad past. It is a shame what happens to her, but I think that is what makes the book so good.
"When adults say, "Teenagers think they are invincible" with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don't know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die. Like all energy, we can only change shapes and sizes and manifestations. They forget that when they get old. They get scared of losing and failing. But that part of us greater than the sum of our parts cannot begin and cannot end, and so it cannot fail."

“Alaska Young is one character in the book. She is special. She is also sometimes mysterious. Quiet now one knows what sometimes goes in her head. She is for other people not the best influence, but she can be lovely sometimes. She has good friend who care about her and love her, even when she sometimes is not the perfect friend. ”Stefanie Zeyer wrote this review 3 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “I absolutely loved this book !!!! I never wanted to put it down because it was just such a great book. It could be a little bit mature for some people but it was just amazing. It made me cry, laugh, smile, and almost have a heart attack. An amazing book.”KC Pina wrote this review 6 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Even though I knew what was coming, I still read, and I still cared. Even though I never went to boarding school, or got in a lot of trouble in high school, or had tragedy strike as a youth, I could relate to the rough, raw emotion that simply comes with being a teenager.”Caitlin C wrote this review 6 days ago.
