This book definitely deserves the praise it's been given! I didn't think I'd like it after I heard people say it was so great, but wow! The plot lags a little bit at points, but other than that, it's amazing! The key to it is that John Green is a master at writing a character. His characters...

I have to be the only person that found this book to be completely unrealistic (when it is supposed to be something that could happen) and to have a boring, unmoving plot. I may be alone in this review, but I did not find it a good read, for either adults or teens.

It was a good read, but basically the same as Paper Towns. Similar premise: mysterious, intelligent (but, of course, hot) girl teaches nerdy boy to find himself through series of deviant adventures. Both Alaska and girl from Paper Towns (can't remember her name right now) make me think that John Green has never had a girlfriend. He doesn't really know what girls are actually like.

A boy from a small town in Florida decides to transfer to a boarding school in Alabama that his father went to when he was a kid. There he makes a lot of friends including a girl named Alaska. He falls in love with her even though she already has a boyfriend. He kisses her one night when she is drunk. That same night, she drives off and gets into a car crash that killed her. Her friends are left not knowing if it was scuicide or really an accident. I loved this story it was tragic but beautiful. I would like to think that she didn't commit scuicide, and if I was in her friend's situation I would not believe it, but as an objective party I really think that she did.
