“"Exiled" by Maya Banks
Enticed to the island paradise where an enigmatic prince is living in exile, beautiful, virginal Talia is introduced to a world of forbidden pleasure where the prince's every whim is fulfilled and her fantasies are rendered in exquisite detail. But when the prince is summoned back to fulfill his duty to his struggling country, reality is thrust upon Talia all too soon. She returns home, heartbroken, convinced she was a passing fancy for an idle ruler and his most trusted men. Until the day they arrive on her doorstep, determined to have her back where she belongs.
When you have an island all to yourself, together with a perfect prince and three beautiful men, ready to pleasure you and give you all that you might possibly need, I think the name for it is Paradise.
Talia is a very fortunate woman to have the love of this men and is a woman ready to obey every whim that Xander has, without fear and with the bonus that she is made up of love to give with her heart, not to one but to all four men.
This characters have been very well developed and written. This is a short story but Maya Banks aced the goal to make us understand each and every one of this characters and their place in the story.
Well, one can not go away without talking about the hot scenes that the pages of this book has.
This author always has the ability to make me blush but I can't help myself for running after more.
Maya Banks can write erotica with the gift of having your mind and body aligned together with your heart.
After all one can roam the unknown and break boundaries, can we not ?
It's called living.
I loved this story and in the meantime I've gone back to the book a time or two, that's always a good sign.
"Sway" by Lauren Dane. Book 1 of the Delicious series
Levi Warner is an established, older man—wealthy, powerful, and above all, respectable. Then Levi meets Daisy, an uninhibited 24-year-old dance instructor and artist, not exactly the kind of woman Levi is accustomed to. But the young, free spirit, brings out something in him he only experienced in fantasies. When their scorching affair turns into something unexpectedly deeper, Levi finds himself torn between preserving his reputation, and exploring a wilder and much more satisfying kind of life.
I picture Levi Warner like a hot shot, very handsome lawyer. I picture him like a handsome devil, smiling at me and melting me into a puddle of sweetness. I picture Levi as a dominating sex partner that won't back away from what he wants, perfect most of the time and with time the few flaws of character and misunderstood stupidities being taken care of by "now I see the light" or should I say, Daisy.
Boy, I always fell in love with the male characters of Lauren Dane's books and here is no different. She can make up our perfect male fantasies all in one character.
Levi is such a big boy being sometimes a scared little boy, hiding out in his bedroom when he messes up life and this is so human that I could almost believe that there are some Levi's out loose in the world.
Now Daisy is another story.
Strong as ever, and with all that artistic nature that I so adore, she is sexy, groovy and brave, brave for herself and brave for the other's.
I would love to see women over the world to be independent and strong as this characters are.
She is the perfect match for Levi and the choice of having such an unusual couple coming from different worlds and backgrounds spices up this story and entwines us into the start of another series that as so much to live up for.
The story is well balanced between the main characters and the other people that live in their world and this story is short but it's perfect.
This coming together of two of the best authors around couldn't have been a better partnership and a gift to us reader's that follow their work closely.
Please ladies, keep on sending me more because I'm always in the mood for more.”
“It wasn't a bad book but just not the best. I didn't care for the ages of the girls. I felt they were to young. ”Ann Lorz wrote this review Friday, February 22, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Exiled by Maya Banks: A disappointing 2.5
Sway by Lauren Dane: 4 stars and I can't wait for the subsequent books in this series (Delicious). ”
“Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales
Quick & Dirty: Cherished contains BDSM themes, one a little more into the theme than the other.
Excerpt: “Exiled” & “Sway“
I haven’t read an anthology in a while, but I was looking forward to Cherished by Maya Banks and Lauren Dane. Why? Because it’s Maya Banks and Lauren Dane. Cherished contains two novellas that indulge the reader’s appetite for desire, and what perfect way to do it than have these two authors write it? Cherished contains BDSM themes, one a little more into the theme than the other. And because one had heavier BDSM content than the other, I didn’t connect to it as much as the other.
Exiled by Maya Banks follows Talia, a 22-year-old virgin who is indebted to Prince Alexander. Talia met the Prince at the young age of 18, when she was a maid in the Prince’s home. An accident that could have caused Talia to lose her job. Not only did the Prince make an excuse for her on that day, he later on moved Talia and her ill mother to Paris. There Talia’s mother was set up to receive treatments for her cancer, and Talia attended a nearby University, all paid by the Prince. Four years later, after civil wars and social unrest, Prince Alexander was exiled to an island. There he arranged for Talia to join him. It wasn’t a surprise, but instead an agreement, laying out all of the expectations and rules that the Prince had for Talia.
On the island, Talia and the Prince explore each other in a more intimate way. There, the Prince includes his most trusted men, his bodyguards, but also the men that he would trust Talia’s life with. He includes them in all ways that one would think of, and ways that one wouldn’t. Talia beings to blossom as a sexual female, pleasing and being pleased by the Prince and his three trusted men. There was passion, love, and raw sexuality.
I couldn’t connect with any of the characters. I couldn’t imagine a world where this story’s plot was a reality. I felt Talia to be naive and easy to trust, and given what was asked of her, I couldn’t get behind the idea. Some of the scenarios made me uncomfortable, but this reflects more with my reading comfort zone than the author’s ability to write or create. The scenes were steamy, that’s for sure, but I just couldn’t get into it.
“Sway” (Delicious, Book 1)
Levi is a lawyer who lives a normal life. He is an older man than most of our romance males, and has had an interesting and successful life so far. We first meet Levi in a dance studio, looking for his class that he promised to take for his brother’s wedding. Fate intervenes and he sees Daisy, a 24-year-old dancer/artist/creative outlet. Levi is fascinated by Daisy, her long legs, and the simplicity that she brings to dance. Fate intervenes and Daisy and Levi meet several times again, pushing Levi to finally ask Daisy out on a date.
The romance blossoms from there, and the chemistry is quick and immediate. Daisy, a strong and independent woman, gives in to Levi’s subtle dominant side. She experiences many sexual fantasies that she has never felt before, and with Levi’s help, she is having the time of her life. The intensity fizzles a little bit, as emotions come into play. Levi has many doubts and issues, mostly from his past marriage and from nagging influences of his family. But the attraction cannot be ignored, and eventually Levi must choose.
I felt Sway was more my cup of tea, than Exiled. I felt that there was more of a story behind Sway, at least one that I connected more with. I enjoyed the characters and the ebb and flow of the journey that both Levi and Daisy went on. I liked how my focus only stayed on two characters and a single relationship. I questioned some of Daisy’s actions, but I felt that Dane explained them throughout the story.
FTC Advisory: Penguin/Berkley provided me with a copy of Cherished. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Both these stories are contemporary B DSM erotic romances. As a whole I enjoyed the book, but definitely one more than the other. Ms. Dane is kicking off a new series with Sway. I'm not sure if Maya Banks will continue writing a series after Exiled or if it's a standalone.
Exiled by Maya Banks - 3 Stars
I was extremely excited to read this story, then I started reading and... well, I wasn't so excited anymore. From the very beginning I felt like I couldn't connect to this story. Briefly, the premise is of a girl that used to work in a palace. The prince of said palace took a liking to her after seeing her just a few times and talking to her in passing only once. When politics go to hell in the country and his family is forced to leave, he finds refuge in a beautiful island but he has his "people" make an arrangement with the girl that she will get an education and treatment for her sick mother in France, but when Prince Alexander wants, he will collect on that debt. That right there annoyed the crap out of me! So then yes he collects, but he has the nerve to collect by having her have s- ex with not only him but 3 other guys. Yes count them... FOUR men. Then the story gets going and there is a lot of sex, some that I should've been getting into, but I just couldn't. I don't know if the dynamic of the m/m/m/m/f was not working for me as it should, or the fact of how it all came to be bothered me. I can't put my finger on it. I did enjoy some scenes and parts of this book, but overall I struggled reading this story and took me forever to finish it.
Sway by Lauren Dane - 4 Stars
I am soooooo excited that we are getting a spin-off of the Brown Siblings! I love how the characters are always artsy, tattooed, pierced and just not your average Joe or Mary. The Delicious series will basically follow the women that we met during Never Enough, Gillian's friends. First up is Daisy. She's a beautiful latina, she's a part time dance instructor and a full time artist who works alongside her grandmother in their own shop. She's not the typical woman you would think a well to do man would want to bring home to meet the parents. She's outspoken, she has a lot of tattoos, and some piercings in interesting places. She's also young. All this is going through Levi's head when he meets Daisy and faith keeps putting her in his path. Their attraction was instant! They accidentally meet at a dance class and sparks start flying in all directions. Levi has a bit of a dark and repressed past. Things he had to deal with from his ex-wife and his family. And then there's the issue of him being older than her. There are many things I liked about this story. Obviously the connection between the characters made the whole "couple" believable. They were obviously perfect for each and incredibly compatible. I also LOVED Daisy. I fell in love with all of Gillian's friends in Never Enough and I can honestly say I still adore them. Daisy is no exception. She takes life by the balls and does what she wants. And instead of overthinking the whys she shouldn't be with Levi she kept moving forward and doing what her heart told her to. I also really liked that she didn't jump into bed with him right away. The respect she has for herself sets her apart from every other woman Levi has known before. What got a little on my nerves was Levi. Yes, his attitude made sense for who he was and what he'd been through in his life. That doesn't mean I had to like it. Other than that he was extremely hot, especially when he let go of his preconceptions and let his wild side free. ;) As a reader of the Brown Siblings series I loved all the cameos and I think I see a setup for one of the girls in this upcoming series with maybe one of Levi's brothers. It might happen. I am definitely excited to read TART.

“What could be better then 1 book containing 2 stories from 2 of my favorite authors??
This review is only for Sway by Lauren Dane.
I have been anxiously waiting to read Sway ever since Lauren Dane posted that she was writing it and Sway
was everything that I hoped it would be and more!!!
I am a BIG fan of older man/younger woman romances, so I was excited to read about Levi, an older established man and Daisy, a young free-spirited woman. I cannot express how much I absolutely adored their characters and this story. I definitely think that it is my favorite Lauren Dane book with Levi and Daisy being my favorite of her couples/characters (a title that was previously held by Brody and Elise from Coming Undone.) I love Daisy's character so much and I love her even more with Levi~they are perfect for each other. Levi maybe my favorite character but that didn't stop me from wanting to kick him in his junk at one point~thankfully he made up for that!! LOL
I loved seeing Adrian and Gillian as well as Gillian's friends. I cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series. Oh and I fell in love with Levi's brothers and I am hoping that Lauren writes their books as well, especially Jonah *sigh*.
Sway captured me right from the very first page and I was sad to see Levi and Daisy's story end but I hope to see more of them as the series continues. It had everything from laughter to tears to romance to hot steamy sex to lovable realistic characters that I can't wait to read more of. Just an awesome book that I definitely wished was longer but I think the story was wrapped up perfectly. Such a great ending that left a smile on my face and is just another example of why I love to read and keep coming back for more from Lauren Dane. Definitely a reread and going to the top of my keeper pile.
Lauren Dane has always been one of my favorite authors, with the addition of Chaos Burning and now Sway, she continues to earn my adoration!!! It is always a pleasure to read a book that captures you right from the start with a great story and great characters and Lauren never disappoints. Thanks again for entertaining me with Sway, it was truly my pleasure to read and I look forward to reading it again.
BEST OF THE BEST rating.
***ARC obtained by Lauren Dane~Thanks again so much!!! :)”
