This book tells the history of people who were and are living in USA. Typically history books are more like achivement stories of past Presidents, Generals and Political Leaders. There was always a need to research and write a book on behalf of those whose lives were affected by the Presidents, Generals and Political Leaders without their own sane choice. Sadly, its ugly but true.....

A very well written and unique history of the United States with many perspectives that are not included in our usual education. If you're interested in this book you should come by and check out the "Anarchism in the Library" group.

An unabashed liberal tour de force. Well written and edited. I’d be remise if I did not mention up front that this book is as slanted left as any published by the far right ... and of course, that was Zinn’s point. He is trying to balance the scales of justice between what America has accomplished through conflict and whom they sacrificed (without regard) in pursuit of that same accomplishment. Conspiracy Theorists will embrace this as a bible. I think it better serves as a strong and needed counter weight to American History. 2/12/08
