some intriguing themes: God pursues us, God's grace is enough. Not great literature but extremely interesting.

This is the first novel of Angela Hunt's I have read. She writes very well and has a great command of the English language. She has developed her two main characters well and has researched this story well.

Although I found the story slow in parts, this did not stop me from reading on as she has constructed this story to entice you to find out what happens next. You want to find out what makes Asher tick and what is the attraction Claudia has towards him. Is it Asher for who he is or is it his past which includes living 2,000 years (based on John 18:20-22 and this man cursed with immortality for striking Jesus, and thus the legend of The Wandering Jew).Yet, you do pick up that she is also attracted to Asher because of the relationship he has developed with Jesus living for 2,000 plus years and what this reveals about Jesus.

Hunt has added just enough mystery and intrigue about another main character, Justus, and Asher's obsession with him being the Antichrist, that also keeps you reading more to see where this is going and what happens in the end. This only adds more depth and plot development and also adds more to the character of Asher in relation to him living for the past 2,000 year or more.

All in all, a very enjoyable read and a fascinating topic, one I had not heard of before. Definitely worth a read.

A very enjoyable mystery. I spent most of the book waffling back and forth on who was good and could be trusted. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but it was necessary. The characters were especially fascinating and developed well.

God's grace saves not good works. A visualization of that concept is this book.

This book was not what I expected from reading some of Hunt's other works, and at first I was a little put off. But as I continued to read, I was drawn into this story about a man's quest to find the Anti-Christ and stop his rise to power. There's so many books and movies on the market about end times, and the message of this book resonates strongly in the current climate of looking for the apocalypse: Don't go looking for signs of the Anti-Christ or the end of the world, but live your life for Christ and tell others about Him and His love. Claudia's growth as a woman is wonderful to read, and her relationship with Asher speaks volumes. There were a few cardboard characters, and the issue of Kirsten's accident was never addressed, but overall this is a great book.

Could a person could live for 2000 years? Why might they? Angela Hunt writes another goodie.
