This is an excellent resource and collection of essays on the moral aspects of capitalism. Rand claims laissez-faire capitalism is the only social system based on the recognition of individual rights.

This is the best book I've read in support of Capitalism. It is especially important in light of our current rush to Socialism. The book give the moral foundation of Capitalism.

Great collection of essays on the theory, history, and (at the time) current state of capitalism. Contributors were mostly Rand, but also include chapters by Alan Greenspan (yes, the former Federal Reserve Chairman), Robert Hessen, and Nathaniel Branden.

Capitalism isn't as romantic as socialism--as they say, it works better in practice than in theory. No one marches the streets chanting capitalist slogans and wearing Milton Friedman T-shirts. Nonetheless, it's a economic system that is certainly misunderstood. A good companion read to this work is the books by Michael Novak, George Gilder and Rabbi Lapin, all reviewed herein.

As a liberal at the time, this was the book that turned me into a hard core libertarian with a philosophy to boot. Great stuff - though you would have to wonder what overcame Alan Greenspan that he would abandon his insights of the time.

I'm not an expert in politics, philosophy or economics except maybe for one of my days shopping at the local mall. I bought this book several years after reading the novel "Atlas Shugged" , I was curious about Ann Rand's personal philosophy on capitalism. It's easy to read, and her philosophy seems great. so why did the flags keep going up? Were they warning flags or to good to be true flags? If "Atlas Shugged" interested you, then you may be interested in reading this.. What I'm curious about now is how many in today's politics have been reading it?
