“I've read nearly all of Susan Elizabeth Phillips books over the years. Well written romances with nicely developed characters. If you know the couple is going to end up together at the end, you might as well enjoy the ride to get there!”AltoonaReader wrote this review 7 days ago. “I really enjoyed this book from the beginning till the end! I completely ignored all my obligations this morning so I can finish it. It's really a page-turner and the characters are so lovable. The only thing I'm sorry about is that it's the 7th book in the series and I haven't read them and I probably won't because I like to read series chronologically. But Phillips has proven again that's she's really one of the best contemporary romance writers.”Tamara wrote this review 3 weeks ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“I guess that I will never read romantic series in order. I should just accept that as a given. This is number six in Phillips' Wynette series and I have no idea if I have read the other five.
When I got back to reading romances, Phillips is one of the first contemporary romance writers that I picked up. I have enjoyed every one of her novels that I have read and I have reread more of them than I would like to admit. I know with every book, she will make me fall in love with her characters, the story will be enjoyable and she will tug at my emotional heart strings.
I know that many people find romances to be sophomoric and ridiculous. I also know that for me they fill a reading niche that no other type of books do. And since they are the best selling genre of fiction, I suspect they do that for others.
“Running out on her perfect fiancée is the last thing Lucy Jorik ever thought she would do. To make matters worse, she climbs on the back of a motorcycle with a not so perfect stranger. Panda is a secretive man who likes his life the way it is and doesn’t need anyone disturbing it. He does everything he can to keep Lucy from getting too close. When she ends up at his beach house uninvited, sparks start to fly. All Lucy is looking for is a place to rejuvenate and reassess what she wants out of life. What she doesn’t expect is to find herself incredibly attracted to a man that is the opposite of what she thought she wanted. As they struggle to maintain their distance, they find that what they truly want is each other.
As this was my first experience reading a book by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, I was unsure of what to expect. After reading the first few chapters, I found it an easy and enjoyable read. The characters were fun, the storyline was interesting, and it managed to keep me reading without a lot of drama or suspense. In addition to the main characters and plot, it also had a side story that was very heart warming. I did have a few moments in the book where I thought that I might be missing part of a back story, but overall it worked well as a stand-alone read. This book was good for a lazy afternoon or anytime you just want to escape into a book.

“Great story. Our bride, the President's daughter, runs out of the church on her wedding day. She hops on a motorcycle of a perfect stranger (pun intended) and disappears. She adopts a disguise that would fool anyone. Loved it.”Marty H wrote this review Monday, May 13, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
