I believe this book is better than the first. Looking forward to the third installment.

Awesome f/u to HOuse of Witches. This one dived more into the historical aspect of the time which was sometimes hard to follow but educating in a fun way.

like this trilogy a lot, but very hard endings - cliffs waiting for the next book.

There are some distinct pro's and con's to this novel.
Pros: I love historical fiction, so historical fantasy is even better! Grown up version of Twilight, author incorporates witches and daemons into the whole vampire buzz that's going on these days, perfect winter read to cozy up on the couch to, and Diana's hometown is in upsate NY (my neck of the woods).

Cons: Author needs a good editor! Must the story go on for 600 pgs!! It wouldn't be a huge deal if she would stop going off on all these crazy tangents!
I thought the purpose of this second installment was to find Ashmole 782, but the text frequently veers off elswhere. Also, how many times must we be told how protective, jealous and angry Matthew is...I get it! Those are basic vampire traits anyway! Lastly, there are way too many secondary characters to keep track of. I am constantly flipping back to the index in the back to figure out whos who.

With that said, I am now committed and will read the 3rd book once it's published.

Well, another delightful story of history, witches, vampires and daemons. I liked as well as Discovery of Witches. I loved the time travel and the 16th sojourn. Really good read, great escape.

Book 2 to Discovery of Witches. I was absorbed. I wonder how long it will take her to write the third book?

Not quite the page turner as book 1 but it was good and leads me to the final installment. Looking forward to it.
