“Read from page nineteen to the end in one sitting. However, not for the reason I want it to be. Really it was only because I kept saying "Well, if you don't finish it now, you'll just have to finish it later," and I really needed to just hurry up so I could finally say I was finished.
I'm glad I've read all the books in The Saga Of Larten Crepsley now because that means I don't have to read books from the saga anymore. Obviously, none of the books were so bad that I dropped the whole series, but I didn't love them.
None of the books were bad, but none were that good, either. I've read five books by Darren Shan, and so far have failed to see what the obsession's about. I'm all for dark, creepy novels, but no Darren Shan book has been either of the above yet.
They're not bad, but not amazing, either. Certainly nothing to obsess over. I really do hope to have my opinion proved wrong in the future and see what the 'rave' is about Mr. Shan's books by reading the Cirque Du Freak series, but, who knows. My opinion might not change, but I really do hope it does.
I had to push myself to keep reading this book so that I could finally part ways with this saga. But, that being said, this book (and whole saga in general) deserves no more --or less-- than three stars.”
“This was a great ending to the Larten Cresley saga, a lot of humor, sadness and drama and a bleak look back at history through the eyes of a vampire. Makes me want to read Cirque Du Freak books again.”Heather P wrote this review Tuesday, July 3, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
