Didn’t Like It“This book was a really big disappointment for me... There was very little that I liked about it. The author even managed to mess up my favorite character - Tamani. I didnt even like him much in this book. |
“I set down the thrid book of this series - Wild - totally ready to immediately start on the forth, Destined. I had to wait about 2 weeks to get the book - it seemed to be out of stock everywhere in the UAE. I started it with a fury and gobbled it up much to fast. I admit the premise of the books and the writing was a little cheesy and corny, but it held my interest as glue holds together popsicle sticks. I was extremely emotionally attched to all the characters. I found myself arguing with the main character, Laurel, in my head on her dilema of choosing which boy to pursue. TEAM TAMANI! I would internally shout, or when David did something courageous, TEAM DAVIDDD!! Ever sisnce I was little I've loved faires and trolls and the whole fairy tale world, and this was exactly that, just on a teenage level, so a little more beleivable and relatable, which was refreshing. It reminded me of a mix mash of Twilight (which was weak, but kind of fun) and Harrry Potter (my favorite series of all time). The magical, mysterious, and light type of stuff was really well balanced with the gore and heartbreak. The suspense - I just couldn't wait to go on to the next chapter! There werent as many cliffhangeres as there was forshadowing and red harrings - like, 'oh wait, could that be what's in the potion?' or 'is that going to affect Tamani in battle?', 'but, no, NO! That can't happen because then they wont be able to go to the dance!' The characters were extremely well developed and I could almost predict their decisions due to the vast indirect and direct characterisation. I wish I coudl undread the whole series jsut to re-read them.”

I had a hard time getting into this book because I didn't remember what happened in the previous book. I thought this one was okay because there was so much fighting. I expected the ending. I appreciated the afterward even more. I was surprised that this series was suppose to be about David, because I really didn't like him. Overall, this was an okay series.”

However, I wish the majority of the book hadn't taken place in one day. I feel like it would be easier for the reader (or at least me) to remember all the events if they weren't all crammed into a single day. But other than that, really great story and ending to a beautiful series!”

Destined is the last installment in the Wings series. It started with an awesome storyline and ended with an awesome-r ending.
Now, I won’t spill the beans but you will definitely be satisfied with the ending. However, I CAN tell you this; squealing moments, jaw-dropping moments, it has more action, character development and an awesome plot twist.
Destined sure have all the elements a book should have. Wings series is one of the series that I’m not sad of leaving it behind. It leaves no questions behind and it left me smiling for HOURS after I closed the book.”
“Destined is the last book in the series and i was some what disappointed by the ending, Pike could of definitely done a better job”

The best part of this book is the alternate ending. It was the most honest and heartfelt part of the entire book. I wish the rest of the book had been as honest and believable as those 3 or 4 pages. If so, it would have easily been 4 stars. But since it wasn't....2 stars it is. ”
