Flame of Surrender is a lighter fantasy romance that revolves around Kaliel and Krishani. Both of them have a good handful of problems ranging from Kaliel being urged to forget her feelings of love in her heart, to Krishani's problem of not being able to pass the second rite without burning down the grounds of it. It only gets harder when their destinies begin to unfold and test their limits even further.

From the first page, Paille pulls you into a magical world with an enchanting writing style. This story is more of a romantic tragedy theme, with a lot of soul in the characters. Their world is a tricky one to fit into with what they are, and it doesn't take long for Krishani's and Kaliel's love for each other to suffer because of the rules of their people.

Between Kaliel and Krishani, I couldn't pick who I liked more, as they were both charming characters along with the feorn, Pux. A bit more action and a faster pace in the first half would have boosted this one up another star for me. I look forward to the next book of the series.
