This took me awhile to read due to the style. It's full of very British humor, which is both slap-stick, and intelligent. The novel is about Armageddon and the Anti-Christ, an 11 year-old boy named Adam Young. It explores human nature, and the concepts of good and evil. It also pokes fun at...

suggested by a good friend, only suggested maybe 20-25 years too late. meant to be satirical, wicked fun, a pythonesque jab at organised christian religion, it left me wondering if i indeed would have laughed at the intended comedy way back when. maybe i would've...then. now? well...i guess...

I have never read Prachett before but have read Gaiman and I can say I could barely recognize any of the latter in this book. The plot was a jumble of skits that jumped around way too much. Most of the jokes were aimed more at pop culture than at the biblical story that was being told. The antichrist doesn't even appear in the book of Revelation, something the authors don't really care about. To be fair most writers of this sort of story don't care about that kind of thing but with all the rich material they had to work with the fact that they spent much of the time making lame jokes about "ansaphones" and other such nonsense is pretty disappointing.

One of the most witty, hilarious, enjoyable reads. One of the few books I would re-read again.

I'd never read anything by Terry Pratchett prior to reading this, but I have since sought out some of his work. This book was very funny while still presenting some very thought-provoking themes on the idea of God, religion, and free will.

INEFFABLY hilarious. Ok maybe not that sublime in humour but right in the Douglas Adams realm. I wish there was more psychological depth but it is a novel packed with happenings of all sorts - also I'm sure the plot would be even funnier if one had more biblical knowledge. The icing on the cake: angels Crowley and Aziraphale, absolute Love for these characters! I am definitely reading more of these authors. erm, Stardust doesn't count...

Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet try their hardest and fail to be Douglas Adams. Really bad; I don't know why I actually finished it.

i can honestly say i spend a majority of this book not knowing what the hell was going on. i didn't realize it'd be so hard to understand english authors.
