One of the most witty, hilarious, enjoyable reads. One of the few books I would re-read again.

I'd never read anything by Terry Pratchett prior to reading this, but I have since sought out some of his work. This book was very funny while still presenting some very thought-provoking themes on the idea of God, religion, and free will.

INEFFABLY hilarious. Ok maybe not that sublime in humour but right in the Douglas Adams realm. I wish there was more psychological depth but it is a novel packed with happenings of all sorts - also I'm sure the plot would be even funnier if one had more biblical knowledge. The icing on the cake: angels Crowley and Aziraphale, absolute Love for these characters! I am definitely reading more of these authors. erm, Stardust doesn't count...

Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet try their hardest and fail to be Douglas Adams. Really bad; I don't know why I actually finished it.

i can honestly say i spend a majority of this book not knowing what the hell was going on. i didn't realize it'd be so hard to understand english authors.

This book has everything. And then some. The angel and the demon, both agents on earth since creation, have kind of become yin and yang for each other...they fit, they balance, they have a bit of each other in them (metaphorically). Then there's the anti-Christ...who gets swapped at birth, displays little tendency toward evil, and is eleven years old. Add in the witches, the witch-hunters, pychic/phone sex operator, a hellhound named Dog, toad-aliens and Tibetian tunneling monks, all leading up to the apocolypse...and there you have Good Omens.
It switches perspective often, gets confusing and seems random, but with two such brilliant authors...well what did you expect?
Just be warned...it can get difficult to read.

Every word a delight! A demon, an angel, witched, witch-finders , The anti-christ his gang and his dog "Dog". The four Bikers of the Apocalypse (The Original Helll's Angels) and the four other bikers of the apocalypse.
Two of the best "speculative fiction' writers we've ever know enjoying the hell out of working together

This book got me into both Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Since one of my book goals now is to amass everything either one has ever written, I'd say it did an excellent job.
