A Most Disturbing read, so keep at hand another book to push out thoughts of this one. Excellent art conveys the madness and tension in the tale. Love the choice of mixed medium which adds to the chaos.

Not one of his better books. Probably more appealing to Britishers than to Americans, though.

Visually stunning thanks to Dave McKean's artwork. However, I was left wanting much more out of this graphic novel. I felt the story didn't really go anywhere. Not one of my favourites from Neil Gaiman - but it is worth it for the artwork.

This is my favorite of Neil Gaiman's comic works. The art is so lovely and strange, and the story so layered. I've read it several times and still feel like I haven't exhausted everything lying below the surface. That depth, combined with the haunting, perfect prose, raise this to the level of high art.

Clever storytelling with a familiar subject overlaid over a child's perspective. Innocent and eerie, ominous and familar. Delicious visuals that add layers of meaning to the tale.
