Also, this book is 5x better if you have ridden on the London Tube for any period of time.

Is Gaiman writing a sequel, do you think? The ending practically begs for one! Great book though, very lovable characters and twisted plot.

Brilliant, evocative, unconventional. A series of surprises, the characters are astonishing, and Mr Gaiman creates an entire world for us to enter and enjoy, fear and revel in. It was hard for me to leave that dingy, dirty, magical, raw, ancient world and return to my "upper" world.

The book shows the author's usual high standard of painstaking research. The historical details are delightful. One is pressed---sometimes almost crushed---by the historical memories in a city over 2,000 years old, and Mr Gaiman brought those memories startlingly to life. Real, breathing, sweaty, perverse life.

I've been taking the London underground for years and never knew that so many stations had opened and closed, and had forgotten some of the very old associations. Riding in the underground can never be the same.

Possibly without some understanding of the context of those 20 centuries of richly varied human life that crowd one in a city like London, the full meaning of the book would be lost. Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with such interests.

I haven't started but based from what I know about Neil Gaiman, he does come up with quite interesting stories. I hope this won't disappoint me. I plan on reading it soon before the Basketball season ends

This is a great Gaiman book. I definitely suggest reading it if you are into the genre and writing style that Gaimen has perfected over the years.

Neil Gaiman is an amazing write. I was so put off by the intial impression of a dull, dirty, dank world underground but it actually grew on me as i kept turning the pages. An excellent adventure - a bit like The Matrix - but so much more richly detailed and wonderfully funny. I rather not see it on the big screen or the idiot box!
