  “Definitely not the best in the Kay Scarpetta series. For some reason, I found this book somewhat uneventful and draggy. The chapters were short, which builds the suspense, but there was never really any climax to the story. I found myself wanting to finish for the sake of finishing instead of finding out what happens next.”

  “I do not read the Scarpetta novels in the order published, I just read what I can find. This has never been a problem before this book. It was slightly difficult not knowing the history of some of the characters and I was left disappointed when the book failed to wrap up many story points. Obviously the story will continue in the next book.
  
  I enjoyed reading the book but felt like during the last 30 pages the story was wrapped up too quickly after the detail given earlier in the book. Not the best Scarpetta novel but a good read.”
