A supply ship is visiting Space Station Oberon, a scientific research outpost, and Hal's class is going on an outing to watch the arrival. As if that wasn't exciting enough, the crew invites them aboard for a tour of the ship!
During the tour Hal sees his mum, the Station's chief scientist, but she pretends not to know him. She passes him a message warning him to leave the ship and warn the Space Station about a sinister plot. Unfortunately the rest of the message is lost!
Hal escapes the ship and raises the alarm, but events are moving quickly and the Space Station is in lockdown. With the help of an ally or two, Hal dons a space suit and sneaks back aboard the ship to free the captives.
Unfortunately that's not the end of it: someone aboard the Space Station was in on the plot, and they escape with the station's precious research.
The ship is leaving with the research, and there's no way to stop it. At least, not until Hal Junior comes up with a crazy plan!
