I don't include gaming books on my shelf too often because I rarely read them cover to cover. This one is an exception, partly because it's Star Wars but also because this is a robust, skillfully constructed ruleset. It must have been interesting for the designers to have such a specific model to emulate, to be able to ask with each concept 'but is it Star Wars enough?' and then 'Do the mechanics work?' I know Star Wars games have been around for a long time- I played the West End Games d6 version- but this version gets the feel and the mechanics right. Mowing down stormtroopers has never been more fun or more harrowing.
