I found it a bit weird that Rand wasn't in this one more. It didn't really bother me but you'd just think he'd have been a bigger focus in it. I absolutely can not wait to get the next one.”

“How I loved this series when Eye of the World hit the stores. Strong female characters, plenty of fighting and magic, and a suitable dash of romantic tension. With that said, I felt that the female characters were ultimately reduced to stereotypes of “sassy,” “defiant” girls instead of being fleshed out into fully complex women. I gave up on this series when Jordan seemed to be dragging it out. After the third book in the series, I got to the point where I felt nothing was being accomplished in the subsequent individual books. Sadly, I turned in my Eye of the World fan card. Well, I'm still a fan of that first book.”

“This one is Rand light which is kind of weird since he is the main character. It is not one of the best in the series, but I think that is because Faile is introduced as a love interest for Perrin, and I don't like Faile whereas Perrin is one of my favorites. I also miss the point where they fall in love.”
