I've been planning to re-read the entire series, too, but I haven't had the time what with all the other amazing books I still need to read. Good for you for putting forth the effort!

I just finished my first re-read of the Wheel of Time, and it made so much more sense, than fifteen years ago. There is so much prophecy and background in that one book that sets the stage for the next eleven books. A re read is a definite must to be able to fully grasp these characters lives and goals and plots, before the twelve and final books is released.

This is absolutely the best fantasy series ever...and im sayin that after reading LOTR and other stuff....jus loved the way the set up the characters..unfortunately he passed away before he could complete the series. nevertheless the job has been passed down to "Brandon Senderson" who said that he didnt have much to do since R.J had already written the ending of the book himself and had kept various audio records of what he wanted written in the final venture. As he himself said once, "Life is a dream, and all dreams must come to an end". Hey Judith! Chill out...you must accept there is a grain of truth to what Scott has to say. Perhaps not all of it, and I wouldnt call it plagiarism by a long shot, but one must accept that it gets repetitive, and feels stretched at a lot of places. And, if you've already read a lot of fantasy, a lot of characters do seem plucked from other stories. At the end of the day though, one must accept that Robert Jordan has got quite a fertile imagination, though the degree to which one would accept him as a genius varies from person to person, right?

Obviosly you are not a fantasy fan. This series has 11 finished books and the author's widow has recently chosen the person who will finish the final book in the series. I cannot believe you actually wrote, "...fairly poor writing..." when describing any book in this series. Because of this, I cannot believe you actually read it.

So...is Moraine really dead, do you think? To give her character her due, the series really started dragging for me when she faded out of the series.
