This is probably one of my favorites from the Wheel of Time series.

I thought it was good, but terribly long

Probably the best of the series discounting the book for, at least to the seventh one since that is the farthest I've read. I love Mat's character in this book, and Rand continues to progress as well

How I loved this series when Eye of the World hit the stores. Strong female characters, plenty of fighting and magic, and a suitable dash of romantic tension. With that said, I felt that the female characters were ultimately reduced to stereotypes of “sassy,” “defiant” girls instead of being fleshed out into fully complex women. I gave up on this series when Jordan seemed to be dragging it out. After the third book in the series, I got to the point where I felt nothing was being accomplished in the subsequent individual books. Sadly, I turned in my Eye of the World fan card. Well, I'm still a fan of that first book.

This is actually one of the best in the series, in my opinion. Some of the other ones start out kind of slow, but this one has something going from page 1 to 683 (yes, I said 683). The sad thing is that this being the best one, I am not nearly as fond of the next two. In fact, I know people who never make it passed the Lord of Chaos (book 6).

All of the books are really slow to go through and its hard to remember all of the characters and inner plots of the whole story. I just keep reading these because I'm the type of person who finishes what they start.

This book has the best in the way of boobs and explosions, for all of you who requires such things (I'm mainly talking about the Cairhien docks, and the spectacular battles in Caemlyn and Cairhien). Plus we have the biggest mystery of the series on the last page.

Good fantasy read, but Jordan drags out the story unnecessarily, and rambles from occasionally. Unfortunately, once you start a series it is kind of hard to stop.
