I did not like this book. There were so many things wrong with this book. When you first started with this book, it felt like you were missing something. It was written lot in third person and hte flow of the book just didn't flow etc.

Luckily the world didn't end yesterday before I finished this book. I would have hated to have missed the ending.

This book is smartly written and fun to read. It is not the kind of book you can put down for any length of time, because the story is hard enough to follow as it is. There are a lot of flashbacks and flashforwards, but it is possible to keep them straight if you stay with it.

There are times when I think the author has gone overboard with stating all the possibilities, options, potential outcomes, etc. that Kate is thinking--over and over, but yet that is probably how it really would have been. And the thoughts mentioned were well-considered and plausible.

This is definitely worth the read.

What kind of marriage would a couple have if neither partner knew what the other was doing when they headed off to work in the morning? What kind of reading experience would I have if the story were told all out of order, kind of like listening to a book when the playback device is set to shuffle? I never really asked myself either of those questions, but Chris Pavone does have some answers.

Kept me going. Some was a little confusing about the bank transfers, but good plot with interesting flashback type of narrative.

Confusing, convoluted, and just plain boring.

Couldn't get into it. Gave it 50 pgs and had to quit it.

This is a good but complicated story about an American family living in Luxembourg. The wife is former CIA and runs into an someone from her past. The book jumps from the present to 2 other timelines and I really had to pay attention as to where I was in the book. It is a very elaborate story and just when you learn everything, it ends abruptly. That is my only criticism.
