“The story was so interesting and the characters were despicable. Normally, I would hate these kind of people, but not for this story. ”

Gritty, suspenseful, funny, and--at times--INCREDIBLY vulgar: Flynn touches all the bases in this psychological thrill ride about a woman who goes missing on her 5th wedding anniversary. A guilty pleasure? Perhaps...but I loved it. ”

I must say, Gillian is a writer with bizare ideas in her head. :-)”

Good twists and turns. I felt the ending fell a little flat, maybe because it was the opposite of what I expected. However, did love one of the last lines of the book!”

I was starting to wonder why until I got a ways into it. There are several unexpected twists and turns when a young woman who seems a little too perfect, goes missing on her 5th anniversary. i enjoy this authors style and have bought two more of her books today on my Kindle. Happy Birthday to me!”

I like GF's first two books and looked forward to this one with great anticipation.
While it moves along quite nicely, if anyone who reads it is at all police procedural savvy, then the story is ruined. There are just too many holes as regards what the police DON'T do in following up the evidence.
While Ms Flynn does a good job of showing the formation of the bitterness of the "gone girl", it still rings unbelievable. As to the framed husband, he is beyond belief. I suppose, though that, given the ending of the book, Ms. Flynn has done us the favor of demonstrating that their really are people THAT sick and who truly deserve one another. It's a good read if you don't read much police procedural stuff, otherwise, there are too many times the police just don't make sense.”
“I wasn't really able to get into the book until almost half way through but once it took off I was hooked. I just had to keep reading to figure out how it would end. Great story & writing but the ending kind of tarnished it for me. Would have been a 5 star if not for the ending.”
