• Katie Malone: Conner's sister who was living in Vermont. She's moved to Virgin River so her twin sons can be closer to their uncle. She's widowed and has a degree in physical education.
• Dylan Childress: Former child star who lives in Montana and is vacationing in Virgin River with his buddies. They all have Harley's. He's also a pilot with his own business.
• Connor Danson: Katie's brother
• Leslie Petruso: Engaged to Connor. She works for Paul
• Jack Sheridan: Former marine, owner of the bar and grill, married to Mel, father of David and Emma. He's the executor of the Virgin River Trust established by Hope McCrea.

• Mel Sheridan: Jack's wife, town nurse and midwife, mother of David and Emma. She owns and runs the town clinic.
• John (Preacher) Middleton: Former Marine. Cook at Jack's Bar. Married to Paige and father of Christopher and Dana.
• Paige Middleton: Married to Preacher and mother of Christopher and Dana.
• Paul Haggerty: Married to Vanni, local building contractor, father of Matt and Hannah. His family owns the buidling contracting company in Grants Pass, Oregon.
• Luke Riordan: Shelby Riordan's husband. A former Black Hawk pilot, he now manages six cabins on the Virgin River. Father of Brett.
• Shelby (McIntyre) Riordan: Married to Luke and the mother of a baby boy, Brett. She's studying nursing at Humboldt University.
• Muriel St. Claire: Famous film actress who "retired" to Virgin River but recently finished another movie. She is romantically involved with Walt Booth and restored her current home.
• Walt Booth: Retired 3-star general who lives in Virgin River. He's father to Vanni and Tom and Shelby's maternal uncle. He's in a serious relationship with Muriel St. Claire.
