hiLARious! If you love The Onion, you'll love this. Buy it in hardback if you can, it's easier to read. Takes a long time to get through.

This book is so downright funny! It's like "Gulliver's Travels" on steroids. It might look like some ordinary reference book, but when you look inside, you might puke or laugh your way through this "Atlas". From Afghanistan to Minnesota to Timbuktu to Zimbabwe, no area in the world is safe from this work of satire, maybe except the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. I especially liked the "Europe" chapter. Probably the only 2 most disappointing parts in this "atlas" is that not all countries are covered (for example, Fiji is missing. I would satire it as the only Pacific microstate where Shiva is worshipped) & the other disappointing part is that the entry on Kazakhstan doesn't have enough Borat jokes. It doesn't even mention Borat at all. So, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to be part of the semi-globalized, wonderful, horrible, majestic, insolent, beautiful pothole that is the world or just wanted to update your "Gulliver's Travels" copy, then this book is for you.

The opposite of politically correct, and damn proud of it. This is one of the funniest books I've read in years. The only advice I can give you is: don't read it in one burst. Take your time.

Nothing from The Onion will ever be able to hold a candle to Our Dumb World, but I keep expecting great things. If I never read ODW, I would rate this higher. However, as brilliant as this is, it's just not on the same level as previous efforts.

Wonderfully funny and offensive as only the ONION can be.

Sarcastic, realistic, not the least bit politically correct, this book's editors call our stupid planet exactly as it is. Finally, an accurate atlas! Highly recommended!

Get this book! The most current, most authoritative book of its kind! And, like the cover says, a free globe inside! Perfectly irreverent and offensive to any group of people or nation, but what else do you expect from The Onion? The reclassification of Minnesota (and the free globe, of course) is reason enough to read though this for free while drinking Barnes & Noble coffee.

truly funny and thought-provoking in its own way as it humorously re-examines how we as westerners see the world around us through a mass media induced prism.
